Policies for using a bllog for students
It's important to notice that teachers are always dealing with safety aspects when using Internet.

This is why, there are some schools that avoid the Internet use during school activities. What can we do, as teachers, to provide students with a "safer" environment to study, learn and play?

I think we have to establish a code of conduct students have to follow. This is important specially with young learners and we can talk to them about the importance of having a safe conduct during activities.

The blog participation should be seen as an extension of the classroom. Teachers must have access to students' sites and check if the appropriate language is used.

Students must never use their last name on the blog (this is important)

There are some teachers that suggest the use of avatars instead of using photos, for example.

Students should be careful about how they write and they don't make people feel frightened, angry, upset or embarrassed. Don't be rude is the rule!!!

Teacher and students should work together in a clear and collaborative way. No excuses for not following the rules.
